March of Trees to Pink Lake
The vast vistas in many parts of South Africa are often breathtaking and provide inspiration for me. I sometimes start with a photograph and then interpret the scene using bands of color and texture.
In this painting I have a line of trees marching down to the pink lake, a somewhat unnatural phenomenon in the real world.
However, in my mind’s imagination I use colour to emphasise elements and work at creating a pleasing balance that intrigues and interests the viewer.
